This full service resort is located in Tofino, a small village on the west coast of Vancouver Island at the western end of Highway 4. The harbour location at the edge of Clayoquot Sound makes for some stunning views and is ideal for escaping the modern day world, but it does sometimes take a bit of work to get there. It’s worth it. Most people elect to drive, which involves taking a ferry from mainland British Columbia, Seattle or Port Angeles to Vancouver Island. Visitors may either arrive into Swartz Bay, just north of Victoria, or into Nanaimo, which is more mid island and is a shorter drive. Tofino does have a small airport that is accessible to small passenger planes as well as floatplanes that land on the inlet in town. Morning fog can be an issue, especially in the summer and may cause disruptions in service until the skies clear. Once airborne, the coastal views are incredible. A car is the best option for seeing this scenic area, and guests arriving into Victoria International Airport will find several rental car counters. Bus service is also available from Victoria.
