This ocean front lodge is located in Tofino, a small village on the west coast of Vancouver Island at the western end of Highway 4. Its remote location past Pacific Rim National Park and ten minutes from Long Beach makes for some stunning views. It is ideal for escaping the modern day world, but it does sometimes take a bit of work to get there. It is definitely worth it. Most people tend to drive which involves taking a ferry from Vancouver, Seattle or Port Angeles to Vancouver Island. Visitors may either arrive into Swartz Bay, just north of Victoria, or into Nanaimo, which is more mid island, and makes for a shorter drive. Tofino does have a small airport that is accessible to very small passenger planes as well as floatplanes that land on the inlet in town. Morning fog can be an issue, especially in summer and may cause disruptions in service until the skies clear. Once airborne, the views are incredible. A car is the best option for seeing this beautiful area, and guests arriving into Victoria International Airport will find several rental car counters.
