More St Sauveur Information

Considered the home of Quebec's ski industry, St Sauveur become one of the most popular destinations in eastern North America after the installation of the first ski lift in 1934. In 1948 the first T-bar in North America, imported from Austria, was added. The mountain was originally divided up between several owners, each holding their own strip of land. Eventually all ownership was amalgamated and in 1972 the resort of Mont Saint Sauveur was officially opened.

The resort and village of St Sauveur both offer an assortment of condos, log cabins and vacation homes, as well as boutique hotel rooms. St Sauveur also has been cited as the capital for restaurants in the Laurentides Area. There are more than 60 eating establishments from the most posh such as the L'Ambiance at Manoir Saint Sauveur to fun loving pubs to quaint little cafes and bistros. Shopping is also a fine art in the village and in addition to many one of a kind boutique shops featuring local products there are outlet stores offering great prices on many well known brands. Art, theatre and antiques are quite popular and the annual Festival des Arts de Saint Sauveur, held at the end of July and the beginning of August brings visitors from many lands.

Mont St Sauveur offers downhill skiing for all skill levels. Offering 38 trails and eight state of the art lifts and the longest ski season in Quebec, average of 140 days per year, it has earned its world class reputation. The resort also has one of the most sophisticated snowmaking systems in the industry, able to aid Mother Nature when needed. Mont St Sauveur is also the largest night skiing resort anywhere and offers an unbeatable calendar of events to entertain both on and off the slopes. Check with EasyRez for winter specials.

Snowboarders can find their little bit of Heaven at neighboring Mont Avila, site of the largest snow park in Quebec. A snow school for both skiing and snowboarding offers private and group lessons to adults and children from beginners on up.

Cross country ski trails link Mont Avila with Mont St Sauveur and criss-cross both mountains.
