The ski resort at Mount Washington is just over twenty five kilometres west of the Comox Valley, which is one hundred kilometres north of Nanaimo. The four bedroom town homes are a three hour drive north from Victoria via the Island Highway and Strathcona Parkway. Visitors arriving into Victoria’s International Airport will also have about a three hour drive, or may choose to take a commuter plane to the regional Courtenay and Campbell River airports. From either of these airports Mount Washington is under thirty minutes away. B.C. Ferries offers service into Nanaimo from either Horseshoe Bay or Tsawwassen on mainland British Columbia. This is a much closer terminal than using Swartz Bay (north of the Victoria International Airport). A daily train service travels from downtown Victoria to Courtenay on “The Malahat.” The train departs Victoria in the early morning, with the return from Courtenay leaving in the early afternoon. The rail route is one of the most scenic on the island and takes roughly four and a half hours. Public transport is available from the airports, ferry and bus locations.
